Completion Report on Tree Plantation through the Programme of Swachtha Bhaahwada


Date: 12.7.2023.   Place: Tirupullani, Ramanathapuram District

ONGC Cauvery Basin, Chennai and SPEED Trust jointly implemented tree plantation event in Tiruppullni Panchayat, Ramanathapuram district. The brief narration of the event is given below.
In front of the following officials, __ presided over the function.

3. Ms.Nithiya kalyani-Forest Range Officer-Ramanathapuram

2. Dr.V.N.Rao, Deputy General Manager, ONGC, Karaikkal
3. Mr.A.Jagadeesan, Chief Engineer, ONGC, Thiruppullani
4. Mrs.L.Jeyanthi, Manager, ONGC, (HR) I/c   CSR, Chennai

SPEED NGO functionary Ms .Amaravathi rendered the welcome speech. Mr. Devaraj, chief functionary explained the objective of the event. ONGC is implementing rural development activities in this area especially focusing on nature conservation. In order to reduce pollution and address the issue of climate change they take effort in this area and plant trees in villages where trees are less. On that basis, today trees were planted around the tank bund at Tirupullani.

Mrs. Nithiya kalyani, Forest Range Officer   explained the advantages of the tree plantation event. She told that both for public and private lands, plant siblings can be freely obtained from Forest Department.
The ONGC officials Mr.P.P .Sundaran , Dr.V.N.Rao, Mr.A.Jagadeesan, Mrs.L.Jeyanthi,  rendered special guest speech. They told ONGC is implementing several rural welfare activities, especially, protecting natural resources, digging water bodies, tree planting.

They requested village people and Panchayat staff co operation in all these activities.  They assured to implement many activities in villages.
Finally, officials from ONGC, Panchayat leaders, General Public and SPEED staff all planted the Tree saplings. The Vice President of Thiruppullani Panchayat rendered the vote of thanks and the meeting came to an end well.
